Good in the Hood Announces 2026 Multicultural Music & Food Festival Celebrating Portland’s “Roots, Rhythm & Power”
33rd annual festival returns June 27–28 with local entertainment, youth programming, Reclaim the District collaboration, and Grand Marshal Dr. Robin Beavers
PORTLAND, Ore. — May 2026 — Good in the Hood announces the return of the 33rd Annual Good in the Hood Multicultural Music & Food Festival, taking place Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28, 2026, at Lillis-Albina Park in North Portland from Noon to 9 p.m. each day. For more than three decades, Good in the Hood has brought Portland together to celebrate culture, community, music, food, entrepreneurship, and youth opportunity. This year’s theme, “Roots, Rhythm & Power,” honors the resilience, creativity, and cultural influence of Portland’s diverse communities.
A major addition to the 2026 festival is the first ever Reclaim the District collaboration with Albina Vision Trust. The Saturday activation will transform the corridor from Flint and Russell to Flint and Broadway into a community block party celebrating the history, culture, and continued evolution of Portland’s historic Albina district. This partnership deepens the festival’s commitment to honoring place, legacy, and the communities that shaped North and Northeast Portland.
This year’s entertainment lineup highlights Portland talent across hiphop, soul, jazz, and R&B. Saturday’s featured headliner is Poh-Hop with Cool Nutz, one of the Pacific Northwest’s most respected hiphop pioneers. On Sunday, acclaimed Portland vocalist Aléa Lorén will take the stage at 5 p.m. as the featured headliner, celebrating Portland’s rich musical traditions and the artists who continue to define its sound.
New for 2026, Good in the Hood is introducing the Teen Zone, featuring a dedicated teen stage, dance contest, and a youth 3on3 basketball tournament. This new activation creates space specifically for teens to connect, express themselves, and showcase their talents, strengthening the festival’s commitment to youth opportunity and community engagement.
The annual Good in the Hood Paradebegins at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, departing from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School and continuing into the festival grounds. This year’s Grand Marshal is Dr. Robin Beavers, Senior Vice President with the Portland Timbers, recognized for her leadership in equity, community impact, and expanding opportunity across the region.
“Good in the Hood has always been about creating a space where our communities feel seen, celebrated, connected, and empowered,” said Quisha Light, President of Good in the Hood. “As we celebrate our 33rd festival, we remain deeply committed to investing in local artists, young people, entrepreneurs, and community leaders. At a time when so many people are searching for belonging and connection, this festival reminds us of what is possible when community comes together in joy, culture, and purpose.”
Festival attendees can enjoy live music and cultural performances, a multicultural food court, community marketplace vendors, youth and family activities, nonprofit resource booths, cultural demonstrations, and scholarship recognition ceremonies honoring local students. Scholarship recipients supported through Good in the Hood’s community initiatives will be recognized during festival weekend, continuing the organization’s commitment to educational opportunity and youth success.
The festival is made possible through the support of community partners and sponsors including 1803 Fund, University of Oregon, City of Portland, Oregon Health & Science University, and Legacy Health, among others committed to supporting culture, youth, economic opportunity, and community connection. Additional entertainment announcements, volunteer opportunities, vendor information, and festival programming details will be released in the coming weeks.
